2004-09-22 @ 4:23 p.m. Well, my friends, I have six more days of work before I am done here. Of course packing and moving across the country with no job is all too simple for this girl. No, I am going to do the whole thing on crutches. I have been having trouble with my knee for a little over a month after a poorly landed flying side kick in karate class. After two weeks of rest and a somewhat painful return to class, my doctor had me get an MRI which showed many tiny cracks around one of the bolts he installed three years ago when he reconstructed my torn ligament. The tiny cracks are called a bone bruise. He wants me on crutches for four weeks and he wanted to do some surgery to make sure the reconstruction is still in place. I said no to the surgery. I will probably do three weeks and a few days on the crutches and then I am back in the horrible brace for the foreseeable future. I am debating about the continued insurance coverage that will cost me $375 a month and because I will be out of network I will have a $500 deductible and then they will pay 60% of costs after that. I’m thinking that I could hire an airplane to drop 2,000 résumés on the city of Albuquerque with that money and it would probably be better spent. I wish legs were easier to replace. So, as you might imagine, I am almost useless in the whole packing process. I did a great deal of packing ahead of time, but there are many last minute things to pack up. I have been hoping either to win the powerball or for a natural disaster to wipe out the small amount of crap that I own so I can just collect on the insurance and go. The powerball would be much better though. My causes would be educated single people who get absolutely no assistance and have large student loan debts and becoming a patron of the soon-to-be famous artist Madrigle. Well, don’t feel too bad for me. I am in very little pain and I am moving to NEW MEXICO! My parents are traveling with me and hauling my crap and I have the perfect excuse not to lift heavy stuff. Well, I had better get back to the wrap up. Love to all. Images from emode.com's inkblot test. Words are the property of Corazon. |
