2004-01-20 @ 2:53 p.m. Yay Iowa—good job! I don’t know what happened that I got into politics lately, but oh well, it’s better to be informed and involved in the process than just to complain about things I guess. I’m registered and ready. I wish Pennsylvania’s primary were sooner. What if I’m not still here in May? Oh well, a lot could already be decided by then. Well, I met with a lady drug rep yesterday. I can’t say that her message was altogether encouraging, but she was nice and gave me some good advice. I think I will start looking for counseling jobs as well because it sounds like it could take me a great deal of time to land a drug rep job. I met Deck (formerly known as the guy my boss told me to email) for coffee last night. Well, I had decaf and he nursed a glass of root beer. He was very interesting and funny and he seemed to think I was funny which is pivotal to the future of a relationship with me, anyway. He has a ton of interests and possesses a vast sea of knowledge in his head. We talked for four hours. I can’t say that I felt any heat there, but that might have more to do with my state of mind than anything else. I didn’t get home until well after my bedtime and today I am tired. Well, within less than 5 years, there have been two incidents of murder-suicide involving people I remember from my little high school. The latest one was last Thursday night. The couple’s preteen sons found the body of their father and left the house in search of help before they found their mother. What waste. What selfishness. May God’s hands be on those boys.
