wrinkles in the plastic
2003-11-18 @ 2:37 p.m.

I wish the medical research people would come up with a way for me to sleep more effectively. I generally get about 7 ½ hours a night, but I often feel tired even so. I’m definitely not a very sound sleeper and I shift around a lot which results in me having to untangle everything before I get into bed every night (no, I am not a fastidious morning bedmaker). I don’t wake up a lot that I know of, but I must not be getting the right proportion of each sleep phase or something. I think they could make a drug that would fix that.

Miss Kitty and I have been working hard to cover all the windows with plastic. We got a kit that has double sided tape and shrink wrap. I am really getting into how all the wrinkles in the plastic magically disappear when I aim my hairdryer at them. This is the most activity that appliance has had in years. Hopefully, the plastic will keep the chills out of my basement lair.

My boss informed us that we will most likely be moving our office to a different building by the end of the year. The new office is more than double the size of our current space. I want to designate one of the rooms a nap room and outfit it with a special napping couch. Julio thinks leather would be good, but I don’t find the leather couch in my lair all that great for napping. It’s really more of a sitting-around-naked-eating-Jello-and-watching-for-deer-out-the-window kind of couch, but I won’t go into details.

The office manager is in a bit of a dither over all the stuff that will have to be moved, transferred, purchased and arranged for the big move to the building across the parking lot. The boss tries to calm her down and tell her that it will be okay and then I get her going again by telling her that we ought to make a list of all the stuff that needs to be done and my boss scowls at me.

Miss Kitty got me the name and number of another drug rep to talk to about the biz. I should know all the reps in town before too long. I just hope that gets me somewhere. I keep hearing that it is a hard gig to get into, but once you’re in, you’re in and you can go anywhere. I want to be in.

Well, I can’t think of much else I wish to say.

Love to all.
