rules of geometry
2003-11-11 @ 9:15 a.m.

Surreal like a dream of another place not that far away with dunes of white sand and a marauding raccoon scratching at the door. Coffee spills from my cup flooding the breakfast table and further exposing my already apparent anxiety. Two lazy days and three nights of close sleep interrupted by course southern accented conversations seemingly amplified by the wall of the adjacent room and tosses and turns brought on by an uncomfortable hotel mattress. A haunted house, a golden dome and a Thai restaurant found through the patient direction of strangers. Pain, fear, passion, laughter and doubt contained in intimate moments and difficult conversation. A quick and restrained goodbye passed before flying away on nearly perpendicular paths. Lives, thankfully not regulated strictly by the rules of geometry, but required to return to reality.

Love to all.
