2003-08-27 @ 10:07 a.m. Last night as I checked my often neglected home email, I spied movement out of the corner of my eye. I turned to see a small brown mouse peering at me. He quickly scampered off behind the big gun safe in the corner of my cellar dwelling. I then scampered up the stairs to tell Miss Kitty that we had a pet. She came back down with poison which I felt uneasy about because there would soon be a dead rotting mouse in my room. We placed the pellets in strategic locations. As I washed my face I heard small noises like a little kid trying to get cereal out of a box. Later, I saw the mouse racing for his life across the large expanse from the safe to the garage door. Goodbye dear mousie. I slept and dreamed weird dreams starring Julio. He’s been taking some odd roles in my dreams lately. I don’t really know what that’s about. This morning, I was driving down the long boring stretch from the house to the gate (Miss Kitty’s house is in a gated community). Okay, so the stretch is only about a mile and a half, but it seems really long because you can only go 35. About halfway, a big truck pulled out in front of me and I remember thinking that it seemed rather close. At the gate, I pulled to the right behind the truck. I was not paying full attention, but I saw the brake lights go out and I thought the truck was going. It wasn’t going. I took some paint off my car and made a dent in the truck’s bumper and bent it a little. Yeah, two insurance claims in one month. Maybe my driver’s ed teacher was right and I should have married well and had a chauffer. Love to all. Images from emode.com's inkblot test. Words are the property of Corazon. |
